Danny Scherr's 2007 solo debut cd, Richmond Special, has received commercial and non-commercial airplay on radio stations in the US and Europe. His song "Fade Me In" has appeared on a Local Scene cd released August 2008 by KFOG, San Francisco & San Jose's world class rock station.
Danny has been writing and performing since his high school days in the 1980's, originally for NYC area band Chappaquiddick +5 which played CBGB's and opened for some well known punk acts of the day. During college Danny began playing solo shows, gigging around Ann Arbor and opening for Soul Asylum in Detroit.
Back in NYC in the 90's, Danny started power pop band the Sky Violets, while also playing guitar and singing backup for Zane Campbell, nephew of country music singer & songwriter Ola Belle Reed.
After moving to San Francisco, Danny continued playing solo acoustic shows and wrote songs and recorded with Jon Wilkins of The Postmarks.
In 2004 Danny's song "Maybe You're Gone," as covered by Binocular, appeared as main end credit song of "The Girl Next Door" starring Emile Hirsch, Elisha Cuthbert and Paul Dano.
Richmond Special is now available at iTunes, CDbaby.com, and Amazon.com.

Danny Scherr - Richmond Special
Such is the life of the music addict. You spend your life trawling the backstreets of Musicopolis in search of a sweet hit and every now and again up pops a little nugget that manages to push just the right endorphin releasing button. Well worth consulting your (record) dealer then in search of this little gem of a cd. Ten tracks of sherbert fountain sweetness mixing uptempo melodic indie/pop/rock and slower introspective acoustic numbers all tightly played and nicely sung....Standout tracks are two rockier numbers – "Always Goes That Way" and "Love Again" both of which, in a fair and just world, would be instant radio-friendly hits for a discerning adult market. Touchstones might be Pete Yorn, our own Matthew Jay or maybe The Pernice Brothers.
